Gear and Gear Transport Information

Neoprene booties are considered part of a wetsuit and would be legal to wear anytime wetsuits are legal. Swim-socks/booties are legal at any temperature as long as they do not provide flotation.

Participants will receive a Stamford KIC IT Triathlon Transition Gear Bag at packet pick up. Athletes must use the Stamford KIC IT Triathlon Transition Gear Bag to transport your race gear from Transition 1 (T1) to Transition 2 (T2).

Timeline for Race Day:

1) Athletes will check in at T2 - After check in, athletes will leave their running gear and any post-race gear in T2. Athletes will also be able to get last minute adjustments to their bikes.

2) After check in, athletes will ride a short distance to T1.

Items going to T1:

  • Your bike, helmet, bike shoes and any additional bike gear (you will be riding your bike down to T1)
  • Your swim gear in the Stamford KIC IT Triathlon Transition Bag (wetsuit, goggles, swim cap, towel and any additional swim gear)

Athletes will also be able to get last minute adjustments to their bikes.

3) Upon completing the swim, athletes will go to T1 and put all swim gear in their Stamford KIC IT Triathlon Transition Gear Bag. Volunteers will then transport this bag to T2. Once athletes complete the race, they will return to T2 and collect their gear.
